Camp Green Lane Newsletter-July 2, 2015
Hello Green Lane Families!
I think one of the coolest things about being at camp is the way time moves. We have now been at camp for 5 days and it feels like weeks in camp time. I’m pretty sure anyone who has ever gone to camp understands this phenomenon. The days seem to go slow, but the weeks go by in the blink of an eye. As I watch campers walk to activities smiling, I can tell that they understand this phenomenon. They get the fact that time here is precious and while at camp you need to enjoy every second. Inter girls walk hand and hand to activities, Senior boys laugh and joke in the pagoda and Cadets join together to play Ultimate Frisbee. Everyone is active, smiling, happy and not wasting a second of their time with their summer family.
Today was a regular Sayday schedule. A lot of leagues games were played; art projects were made and tons of kids tried the new slide in the lake over and over again. The play-by-play broadcasting camp also continued. The participants were commenting on real sports games and getting prepared for their broadcasting debut at the Iron Pigs game. Finally we had our first carnival skit practice this afternoon. The cabins got together to practice their skits based on historical events(carnival theme). We are all very excited to see how these skits turn out.
Tonight the Inter girls are playing panic and the Inter boys have counselor hunt. The Cadets have indoor soccer and the Debs have tournaments. The Senior Girls have paper bag drama and the Greek girls are playing cowboys and Indians. Finally the Greek boys and Senior boys will have their first night time basketball leagues game. Another great day at Camp Green Lane!
Yours in Camping,
Aunt Jessie
