Camp Green Lane Blog Post July 13th

Happy New Ventures Weekend! First off I would like to start todays’ blog by announcing the winner of the 2019 Camp Green Lane Olympic games…Team Candyland! All of our teams fought hard and had an awesome time at the dance last night.

Today was AnyDay on our schedule and campers were happy to get back into their regular routine after an amazing Olympics yesterday!

We welcomed in 38 perspective campers to join us today for 24 hours between the arches! Our New Ventures program gives kids the opportunity to try out Camp Green Lane and get a taste of what we have to offer here at camp. The kids were put into three different bunks and were given the true Green Lane experience! Each bunk has 3 of our veteran counselors leading the way. The campers get to experience our high ropes course, archery, quads, basketball, arts n crafts, lake, cooking and so much more!

My favorite part about today was watching the New Ventures campers in the dining hall during our pizza lunch with the rest of camp. Their eyes were wide watching everyone cheer loudly! It was awesome! The Green Lane spirit was felt and the New Ventures campers were up on their chairs cheering with the rest of camp by the end of the meal! . We hope they have an amazing first day at camp and this becomes a wonderful start to their Camp Green Lane story.

Tonight, New Ventures will be having a campfire with s’mores and then will join the rest of camp for a magic show lead by Todd Migliacci. All of camp is anticipating an exciting show!
