Camp Green Lane Blog Post-July 26th

, July 26, 2016

This week has been full of Camps within a Camp! We started the week yesterday with our annual Cooking camp which is the most popular camp we offer.  48 campers were split into 4 teams lead by Camp Green Lane Alumni and/or Camp Parents who are all chefs/restaurateurs.  Each team was told to create a 3 course meal based on the theme–reinventing childhood favorites.  They spent the morning preparing the dishes, helping make the food and then of course, the best part, getting to sample what they had made!  At lunch, our esteemed panel of judges tasted each team’s creations and picked a winner.  This year chef Adam Schuman’s team was our winner! The wining team made meatball sliders, baked mac and cheese with summer veggies and finally an amazing S’mores pie for dessert. I am still stuffed from all that food!  Once again, Thank you to everyone that participated and I am sure the campers are already excited to do it again next summer.

Today and tomorrow we have our Dance Camp within a Camp. For Dance camp this summer, we brought in Kelli Moshen, a professional dancer who leads the Project Moshen Dance Company to teach our participants some new skills. The girls will spend the next 2 days learning a routine that they will then perform for the camp! We cannot wait to see all they have learned!

Yours in camping,

Aunt Jessie
