Camp Green Lane Blog Post June 28th

We’ve had a fantastic first week here at Camp Green Lane. The weather has been beautiful and camp is filled with smiling faces and laughter!

We had our first BBQ Lunch of the summer where of course, a Camp Green Lane Dance Party broke out while we ate our hot dogs!

Tonight we are having our first Camp Green Lane Friday nights Services of the summer! It is always one of my favorite nights of the week. The entire camp joins together and we celebrate what a great week we had. Tonight’s service will be lead by the Deb Girls and the theme is “Compassion”.  Here at Camp Green Lane it is so important that we are all compassionate towards our summer family. We are all here together for the summer and have each other’s backs thru wins and losses, both on the fields/courts and more important in our daily camp life!

We will also be handing out our first CGL CHIPS of the summer tonight. CGL CHIPS stands for Compassion, Generosity, Leadership, Creativity, Honesty, Integrity, Perseverance and Sportsmanship. These are characteristics we hope each camper and staff member encompasses and strives for. Tonight we will be honoring “compassion”. The Supervisors will choose one camper from each of their divisions who they feel has exemplified what compassion truly means. The campers will receive a medal that they will be able to cherish for years to come.
