Camp Green Lane Blog Post- May 1st
Wow! I can’t believe that we are only 53 days away from the start of the summer of 2017! This truly is going to be the best summer ever.
The school year is starting to wind down, and summer is in the air. There are so many things that I encounter during my days that instantly bring me back to my summer home. My senses have been on high alert for these things lately. Anytime I see any inflatable ride/carnival (and in my area of FL, they are way more common than you can imagine), I think of cadet boy’s lawn. Whenever I smell a BBQ, my mind goes to Friday BBQs on BB1. I have been noticing the little things that remind me of our summer home. It makes me happy to have such constant reminders of my favorite place in the world.
We are now only 7 weeks away from being back in our summer home for the summer, but we are only 2 weeks away from being back in the arches. The Camp Green Lane Open House Picnic reunion is Saturday, May 13th. Come hang out with your camp family. Aunt Barb is asking anyone who has extra shoe boxes, to bring them to the reunion as she will collect them for one of her amazing projects this summer.
We are excited to debut our brand new cabin daily schedule, and new and exciting activities, and a brand new BB1 with brand new bleachers and a brand new scoreboard! There are some great surprises this summer, as well as some of our favorite special days back again. In other news, we are super excited to have Aunt Mindy as our new Inter Girls Supervisor.
The school year is winding down, and the summer excitement is revving up. The anticipation is killing me. Only 2 weeks until the reunion, and 53 more days until camp. It can’t come soon enough!
