Camp Green Lane Blog Post

, August 2, 2016

Intense is the perfect word to describe a day like today. The Green and the White teams competed in both the track and field meet and swim meets and it was exhilarating. Between relays, sprints and softball throw there were a lot of points to be won. Both teams played very well and were super spirited. After the meets we had our Male and Female staff soccer games. White won the Male Staff game and Green won the Female staff.

Tonight we have the CGL Acorn relay and Rope Burn. The Acorn is relay event that involves every camper in camp. Each camper is part of the race and has a different task. It could be something as simple as a run or as difficult as shooting a hockey ball across a rink into a small net. The captains are tasked with picking campers for each event and hoping they have the best way of beating the other team.

Rope burn is our male camper captain event. The 4 camper captains Dylan Milano, Will Pludo, Brandon Bernstein and Andrew Reeses will go into the fire for their team. They have to build a fire high enough and strong enough to burn a rope in half. Each team has been practicing all week long and these boys have been waiting for this their entire camp career.

We wish them the best of luck tonight!

Yours in camping
