Camp Green Lane Newsletter-August 3, 2015

Camp was fantastic today. The tension in the air is like a bolt of electricity that is pulsing through every camper as we wait for color war to break. The cheering in the dining hall was deafening in anticipation of silent meals. Camp photographers kept their cameras close by, just in case. Campers walked through camp arm in arm singing old color war songs. And still, we wait.

We wait while our senior boys play their annual wiffle ball tournament. We wait while Gamma prepares for Cabaret. We wait while the inter girls play kickball in the circle. We wait while Cadets boys play basketball and hockey. We wait as the inter boys play capture the flag. We wait while senior girls play gaga. We wait as the Debs play softball. And tonight we will wait through evening activities as the inters, debs, and cadets watch the movie “Parental Guidance” under the stars and the seniors do bid and buy, and the Greeks have a night swim. So tonight we dream one more night about color war, and hope it breaks tomorrow.

Yours in camping,

Aunt Mindy
