CARNIVAL was amazing! Last night each cabin present their original Carnival skit. Each skit had to relate to our Carnival theme, historical events. It was great to see the counselors use their imagination and incorporate every camper into the skit.  Every camper was on stage performing their skit with their cabin mates which is always great to see!  It is always a treat to see the more timid campers get on stage for the first time and begin to feel comfortable up there!

We woke this morning to a picture perfect day. After breakfast and a super clean up, we started to set up the Carnival booths. Some of the most popular are the football toss, the kissing booth (Hershey kisses of course), bowling, toilet bowl/toilet paper toss, and voting for Carnival king and queen. After our Sunday bagel and lox lunch, and a short rest period, we headed out to Carnival. We can’t talk about Carnival without mentioning the Carnival food: Rita’s water ice, Philly soft pretzels, popcorn, and cotton candy. The kids sampled them all in between playing games and playing on the inflatables. They ran from booth to booth collecting prize tickets, jumped on the bungee sling, dunked their counselors in the dunking booth, climbed through the inflatable obstacle course, and tackled the Wipe-Out course in the pool! It was an action filled day which everyone loved!

Tonight was our traditional Carnival barbeque dinner. BBQ chicken went perfectly with our outdoor day. Then it was time to get ready for the first dance of the summer. Dances are a big deal around here. Hair gets blown-dry and button down shirts go on! The DJ is all set and ready to rock the house for a perfect ending to an  a terrific CGL day! Hope yours was just as good!

Yours in camping,
