Hidden away on over 130 acres in rural Pennsylvania is a place where thousands of children have created summer memories since 1926. Camp Green Lane is a co-ed northeast overnight camp that allows campers ages 6-16 to unplug and enjoy the great outdoors for seven weeks each summer.
At Camp Green Lane, we offer more than just a summer camp experience, we offer a summer family. New campers are welcomed with open arms into an environment where they will feel supported and nurtured by their bunkmates, counselors, and supervisors alike. We want our campers to find success on the fields and courts, on stage, in the water, and anywhere else they choose to concentrate their energy. We want them to feel like part of a team while also finding confidence to try new things on their own. We encourage competition while making sure that each game ends with high fives and hugs. Our campers know that they are part of something special that is bigger than themselves, but that they are an integral part of.
Part of what makes us one of the best Northeast overnight camps is the way in which we strike a balance when it comes to our programming. Each bunk has a daily schedule that offers five structured periods, as well as two periods of choice for our campers. They choose a new sport and a new activity to focus on each week so that they can tailor their camp experience to their interests. We also offer day-long intensive camps-within-a-camp where campers have an opportunity to work with professionals and coaches in areas like basketball, cooking, art, lacrosse, SCUBA, to name just a few.
Our incredible staff, many of whom have grown up with us at camp, ensure that the health, safety, and happiness of our campers is of the utmost importance. Our adult “upper staff” is comprised of parents and teachers who work with children year-round. Our counselors are college students who receive training throughout the summer to be effective guides and role models to the campers in their care. Many of our staff are international, exposing our campers to different cultures!
Our infirmary is staffed round-the-clock by a doctor, 2 RNs and a “camp mom”. Grand View Hospital is just seven miles away from camp should the need for extra attention arise. Our spacious dining hall is a place for our summer family to come together three times a day for delicious and nutritious meals that our campers love. We are a nut-free campus and can provide special menus for our friends with dietary restrictions.
